ARCS MEETING MINUTES

November 8, 21005

Meeting called to order by vice president-Chris Bessex

Field Maintenance: No report

County/Field committee: no report, Al Franklin to schedule meeting with the county to discuss the tree/field expansion project

Safety: NO Report

EVENTS:

Combat season ended with Sam Hovey in 1st place; Rick Fuller 2nd, and Corky Betcher 3rd.

Annual gift exchange at the December meeting, $10.00 wrapped gift.

Annual Banquet will be January 7th and the Airport Diner, 6-7 pm is Grin and Grip. Dinner will be at 7:00 PM with a choice of Prime rib or Halibut for 28.00 per person more to come at the next meeting and on the website

Old Business:

Marshall Mont passed away last month. His wife has requested that his supply of model gear go to needy and youth members of the club. Chris will handle dissemination of these items

Kudos was given to Bill Bambrick for his great article in the November issue of the AMA Magazine.

Tree removal will be discussed at the next county meeting. Bob Brusa and Al Franklin will be at the meeting to present our needs

Mall show is coming-Bill Bambrick and Bud Arnold are making the preliminary arrangements. More to come as we get the planning together.

We need to protect our interests at the site, If you see someone y0ou don’t know flying, don’t be afraid to check club cards or AMA cards, We can’t afford to have an accident by someone who is not properly covered by insurance. Could cause us to loose the site!!

New Business:

Nominations for 2006 club officers were taken. Elections will be held at the December meeting. Further Nominations will be taken prior to the elections.

Those nominated were:

President: Bill Powers and Al Franklin

VP: Dick Anderson and Les Bishop

Sec/Treasurer: Dan Mason

Monty requested inputs for the newsletter portion of the website. Anyone having articles, hints and kinks, etc is asked to send them to Monty via his club email address which is mfoust1247@wavecable. Com. Please mark the subject line with ARCs so he knows it is for the club.

Questions/Concerns: The couch at the pit area was discussed and it was suggested that it be disposed of as soon as possible. This in attendance agreed.

Technical Services/needs

Larry Dunn announced that the e-flyers are flying indoors at the Pt Orchard Armory every Saturday Night for 7:00- 9:00 pm. A nominal fee is charged for the use of the Armory. Come on out and see what it’s all about

Quarter Drawing: Larry Gruber sent is dues via AL Franklin and then won the quarter drawing. Unfortunately, by not being at the meeting Larry didn’t win the money!!!!!!

Bud Arnold: Parkzone P-51 with a modified controls

Al Franklin: 1936 Red Zephyr scratch built free flight converted for RC. 40 sized diesel engine

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 8:00 PM Next Meeting, December 13, 7:00 at the Sunnyslope Improvement clubhouse

 

 

 

 

2005 Combat Season

 

If you want to join the fun in 2006 all you need is a “cheap” airplane that weighs a maximum of 3.5 lbs. with a maximum .25 size engine. 1st place wins a new OS .25FX engine and plaques are awarded to 2nd & 3rd place finishers. Ed.

MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING WILL BE POSTED WHEN I GET THEM.  THE KEY TO ALL OF THIS IS FOR YOU, THE MEMBER, TO SUBMIT INFORMATION TO ME SO THAT I CAN GET IT ON THE WEBSITE AND INTO THE NEWSLETTER. I CAN USE REPORTS, FINAL STATS, STORIES, JOKES,  STORIES,  LOST AND FOUND AND EVEN TALL TALES.
