ARCS MEETING MINUTES December 12, 2006 Meeting called to order by President-Al Franklin at 7:00 pm New members: None Treasures report: Read and accepted Minutes: Read and accepted . Dick Anderson questioned the wording on the new dues proposal. Due to the crowded agenda, discussion was postponed until next meeting Field Maintenance: No report County/Field Committee: Letter requesting improvements to the field has been drafted and will be forwarded to the Parks Department after it has been proofed and edited. Safety: No Report Events: Frosty Fingers fly-in Jan 1, 07 Annual Banquet-6 Jan Instruction: No Report Old Business: Club President went over the nomination for the 2007 officers. Nominations were as follows: President: Terry Hubbard- withdrawn Bud Arnold Bob Brusa V.P. Less Bishop Sam Hove-withdrawn Bob Brusa Sec/Treasurer: Juan Andrade Voting for new officers was then held. The Following individuals were elected for 2007 President: Bud Arnold V. P. Less Bishop Sec/treasurer: Juan Andrade Awards Banquet: Will be held at the Givens Center in Port Orchard, January 6, 2007 6 PM-Happy hour and grin and grip 7 PM –Dinner 8 PM-Awards, dancing until ?, and Fun for all. New Business: Bill Bambrick suggested the club look into the possibility of starting a building class for those members who wish to learn the fine art of putting a kit together. Bill also suggested we entertain putting together a club demonstration team to do formation flying at our various events. Additionally, he suggested perhaps the club should consider a design and build contest. Brian Campbell discussed his proposal to have pylon racing next year. He suggested a "One Design" aircraft with 25 size engines. It was reported that some of Kyle Woyshnis’ flying skill could be viewed on RC Universe. Al Franklin suggested that with as many folks in the club flying ARF’s, it might not be a bad idea to have a "Repair your Damaged ARF" class. The Model EXPO will be held in February as usual. It is usually the first weekend in February which is February 204, 07. Al Reported the Monroe "Big Bird" club had lost there field to the floods. Appears they will have to find a new flying site as their runway is a total loss. Dan Mason discussed the Air Museum located at the Pt., Townsend Airport. He suggested that the club may want to donate some funds to help build the museum. More will be presented at the January meeting. Voting for ARC of the Year was conducted. Winner to be announced at the Awards Banquets. The Annual Christmas gift exchange took place. There were 26 participants and as usual the real gift exchange took place after the gifts were opened and the swap meet began. Drawings and prizes. Bill Bambrick won an electric airplane kit as the door prize Show and Tell: Bill Bambrick displayed his C-47 in Operation Market Garden paint scheme. It has twin 46 2-strokie engines and is for sale for $550.00 complete with radio and engines Bill was also the winner of show and tell Do to the extended agenda there was no quarter drawing this month. Drawing will resume at the January meeting. There was no raffle prize this meeting. The raffle will begin at the January meeting and the raffle prize is a new Spectrum Park flyer radio system. There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 9:00 PM. Next Meeting, January 9, 2007:. 7:00 PM at the Sunny slope improvement club.
