ARCS MEETING MINUTES

September 11, 2007

Meeting called to order by President-Bud Arnold at 7:05 pm

 

New members:  None 

Guest: None

Treasures report:  Read and accepted.

Minutes: Read and accepted.

Committee Reports: None

Safety: Rick reported to insure we don't fly alone at the field. Club rules, there needs to be two people at Little Field to fly.

Field Maintenance:  No Report.

Events:  None

Entertainment: No report.

County Parks/Field Committee:  Dory from Kitsap County called and will bring the tables and chairs for the airshow.  However, they will not do it again as they're not part of the Parks Dept.  A suggestion was made to try Olympic College next year for the tables and chairs.

Instruction: No report.

Old Business:  Air Show items:

        1.  Verlyn and Juan will handle parking.  They need two more volunteers to assist.

        3.  Bud has eight 15 inch wheels with drive shafts in them for marking off parking and nine chrome rope off poles.

        3.  Combat - one four minute heat with 4-5 combat planes.

        4.  Bud has a vender for hamburgers, hotdogs and pop coming out to the field.  This part accomplished.

        5.  We're in need of a PA System.  

        6.  Aug 26th work party from 9am to noon.  If you don't work, you don't fly on Aug 26th.

                We need mowers and weed eaters, garden rakes, shovels.  Please coordinate with Bud.

        7.  Jeff Nelson is putting together the schedule of events.

        8.  Hobby Outlet will be a vender at the field.

        9.  We will have two extra port-a-potties for the Air Show, Bud will take care of it.

       10.  We have two announcers, Les and Danny.

       11.  Lorin will run the impoundment of transmitters.

       12.  Possible Raffle contest, unknown if we have a raffle prize at this time.

       13.  Juan may have a person who will come out for a helicopter demonstration.

       14.  Jeff Nelson volunteered to be the Director for the Airshow.  He had to go back to Arizona.  

               Jeff will cordinated the airshow from Arizona until he gets back to Washington

       15. Advertisements in local newspapers for the Airshow has been accomplished. 

Other Old Business

          1.   Gate Rules - When ARC opens the gate we put the lock on the post.  When the County opens the gate, they put the lock on the gate.  

                This way, if the gate is left open, we know if it's the County who left it open or an ARC member.

          2.  Bill purchased a set of Jumper Cables for cars.  It's located in the Conex.  

          3. Mike Carrero won the past three IMAC events in Advanced class and Kyle took 2nd place in the past three IMAC events in Unlimited  

              class.

New Business

Airshow.

1.   PA System has been obtained.

2.   Two Port A Potties will be here on Friday.

3.   Venders were confirmed to be here.  

4.   Raffle prize will be a Hobbico Nex Star, Ready to Fly.

5.   We have enough people for parking.  

6.   Bud will be here at 7am to begin setting up for airshow.

7.   Al reported we don't know if Snoopy and Red Baron will be ready for the airshow.

8.   Lloyd sold his flying lawn mower.

9.   Buds smoking bipe developed a leak in the system and will not be flying at Air Show.

10. During the past month, the Air Show has been mentioned 24 times in local advertisements.  (Largest advertisement campaign ever for the Air Show.)

11.  Combat will be part of the airshow.  Les will be the judge.

12.  Airshow is from 10am to noon.  Break from Noon to 1pm for EAA flyover.  Airshow continues from 1pm to 3pm.  Times are very approximate.

13. Shuswap lake float fly-in in British Columbia.  102 pilots.  Lot of aircraft took a drink.  150 to 200 planes showed up.  

14.  Loren is registering the pilots at the Air Show.  It was decided a Transmitter impound will not be needed.

15.  Static display.  Please bring planes.

Other new business:  Juan brought up the need of a new Troy Built lawn mower for $999.00.  Loren brought up the fact we cannot get insurance on it.    Montie Motioned for lawn mower.  Bud second motion.  Club vote approved it.  Juan make the purchase.

Education:   No report.

Drawings and prizes.

Quarter drawing was not won by anyone.
